Aberthaw is a coal-fired power station on the north bank of the Bristol Channel; it opened in 1971, and is currently operated by nPower.

How to get here:

Road: A48 - From the roundabout with A48 and A4232, head south on the A4050 towards Barry. When you reach Barry, continue on the A4226 towards Cardiff International Airport, along the A4226 and B4265. Continue onto St Athan, and then turn right at Gileston onto Gileston Road - this leads down to the beach by the power station. (~11 miles, ~17m) +
