Buckhurst Park, Withyham, East Sussex

Withyham Cricket Club is on the Buckhurst Park estate, a few hundreds yards along the drive from the Park entrance. It was founded in 1946, and has the currrent Earl De La Warr (who owns the estate) as it's president.

How to get here:

Road: B2110 - Via Royal Tunbridge Wells (A26), follow the A264 west towards East Grinstead, then take the B2110 towards Groombridge. At Groombridge, continue across the mini-roundabout towards Withyham; the entrance to Buckhurst Park is by the Dorset Arms pub. Parking: road alongside the pub. By foot follow the drive up to the cricket club. +

Buckhurst Park (Woods) (Castrovalva). Follow the drive further into the Park, and it will eventually weave right up to the house; the path to the woods is on the left, alongside the lake.

Road (3.3 miles, 8m) : Follow the B2110 east towards Groombridge; when you reach the mini-roundabout in the village, turn right into Station Road and then follow this over the railway bridge and then bear right in Eridge Road. Birchden Wood and the rocks are a couple of hundred yards on the right hand side. Parking: Birchden Wood car park (£1.00). Parking Birchen Wood car park. Small fee applies

Sussex Police Training Centre (Crowborough) (Castrovalva). Road (5.8 miles, 11m) : Head west along the B2110, passing through Withyham. When you reach Hartfield, turn left onto the B2026 towards Uckfield and then continue past the junction with the B2188 and the police training centre on the site is on the right. Parking: unknown. Parking There are a number of car parks off the road for the forest.
