Battersea Power Station was coal-fired and generated energy from the 1930s until its closure in 1983. It is a Grade II listed building, and is the largest brick building in Europe. The site has been subject to a number of redevelopement proposals, and after the previous failure in December 2011 the site went through another bidding process in Spring 2012, with Malaysian company SP Setia and Sime Darby chosen as preferred bidder in June.
The power station has never appeared in it's own right as a location, but has cropped up in stock footage and in 'modified' forms.

Rail: Battersea Park Station - Exit the station and turn left, then follow Battersea Park Road to the power station. +

Rail: Battersea Queens Town Road Station - Exit the station and turn right, then turn right into Battersea Park Road and follow it to the power station. +

Bus: Battersea Park Bus Map - Routes 156 and 344 run along Battersea Park Road. Nearest stop is Cringle Street or Sleaford Street. +
