Engineer's Way
Engineer's Way, Wembley, London

Engineer's Way runs along the north side of Wembley Stadium. The British Empire Exhibition opened on its north side on 23rd April 1924, with three "palaces" to display the strength of the Empire in the aftermath of the Great War. Their architect was Maxwell Ayrton, and engineered by Sir E. Owen Williams.

The Palace of Engineering had long since been demolished, but the Palace of Industry and the facade to the Palace of Arts survived until 2006, when they were finally demolished in favour of a temporary car park to support the new Wembley Stadium.

How to get here:

»

Underground (Metropolitan/Jubilee): Wembley Park - Exit the station and walk down the steps under the road towards Wembley Stadium along Olympic Way. Turn left into Fulton Road and follow this around to 5th Way. Turn left and cross over, then turn right into Third Way. +
