Fields House
18 Fields Park Avenue, Allt-Yr-Yn, Newport, NP20 5BE
Fields House is a Grade 2 listed building that was built in 1860 as an extension to the adjoining house as an entertainment wing. By the time of filming for the house had been empty for some time and in need of restoration. There were plans in 2005 for the building to be refurbished into flats, but that fell through by 2010 when both parts of the house had planning permission for renovation that April.
8 Jul 2014: The other "non-Who" part of the house became a residential property shortly afterwards, and in 2014 the "Who" part had also been restored and made available as a self-catering holiday residence suitable for up to ten guests.

27 Jan 2010: Dave Edwards: I had an afternoon taking pics inside the grounds and house. It was a fantastic experience and the house is a relic stuck in a time warp... gas lamps on the walls, oak panelling in the rooms, beautiful ornate stairways, and ceilings so high you could perform a trapeze there! It was derelict, dusty and spooky, just like the episode. The house is actually in 2 parts. Work is being undertaken on the older side, the new side (an extension) side is where they did the filming. We had to go across the roof between the chimneys to enter the part where they did the filming via a rooflight. The layout is exactly the same as the episode and the house is no different at all... there is still evidence of filming there - the guy who came around with me didn't know what the dirty squares were on the walls, but it's where the beeb put up portraits and mirrors and dirtied the edges around them. Also - and this is the best bit - the room where Sally Sparrow uncovers writing by the doctor under the wallpaper ... the writing is still there!!! Admitedly, they have tried to cover it with what looks like red oxide paint but it's clear to see - one of the words "no" hasnt been covered. But the fireplace, the big double doors are all there and even the same wallpaper... hanging and tattered. The landing where Sally goes up and sees the angels with the TARDIS key is clearly visable, and also the front door and hall behind it. I was completley blown away by this location and I can tell you now I wouldn't stay the night in there... it's that spooky!

21 Jan 2010: Dave Edwards: I went past the house last night and there seems to be some work going on inside the house. I rang the estate agents who have have this place up for sale, it's being sold in two halves apparently, and she said the Beeb had been up there just recently for more filming as she had given them the keys. I know the weeping angels aree in the Series 5 so perhaps that where they were again??
