Gellifelen Railway Tunnels
Daren-felen, nr Clydach, Gwent

The tunnels formed part of the Abergavenny to Brynmawr railway, which opened in 1862 following part of the Bailey's Tramway that existed here for ironworks. The line was eventually closed in 1958, but remains of a station at Gellifelen and these tunnels still exist, and now form part of the Clydach Gorge walk. Daren-Felen is on the east side of the tunnels.

How to get here:

»

Road: A40 - Take the A40 to Abergavenny, then take the A465 towards Brynmawr. After Gilwern, turn left onto Station Road, and then right onto Park Crescent. This eventually becomes Lower Geli, and this leads up to the tunnels. (~6.5 miles, 11m) +
