The Phoenix is a Danish ship, built in 1929 by Hjorne & Jakobsen; it was used as an Evangelical Mission Schooner for 20 years before being used for carrying cargo. After a fire the ship was bought in 1974 and converted into a Brigatine; in 1988 it was bought by Square Sail and was completely refitted.

The ship has appeared in shows like Hornblower, Moll Flanders and The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Admission: The ship is open to the public during the summer (when not being used for filming etc.), small admission charge.

How to get here:

»

Rail: St Austell Station - The best bet is to catch local Western Greyhound services 523 or 525 to the Harbour. +

»

Road: A30 - Follow the A30 west from Bodmin, then turn left onto the A391. Follow this all the way to Charlestown/St Austell, then turn right onto the A390. Continue onto the roundabout, turning left onto Charlestown Road, which leads to the harbour. +
