The view of the viaduct in the story was from within the grounds of the Egerton Grey Hotel, but it can easily be seen from the public road outside.

Road: A48 - Take the A48 to the junction with the A4226, near Bonviston, then follow it to Barry Island. At the roundabout, continue along the A4226 and then turn left onto Port Road towards Porthkerry. At the roundabout continue onto Porthkerry Road, and then the next left leads to the Egerton Grey Hotel. (~6.7 miles, ~11m) +
