Riverside Studios
Crisp Road, Hammersmith, London, W6 9RL

During the 20th Century, Riverside Studios started out life as an engineering factory for waterpumps, then the location where the first tanks were developed, before being bought by the Triumph Film Company in 1933 and rebuilt as two film studios. It was bought by the BBC in 1954, and was to become hailed as the greatest television centre in the world! During the 1970s the BBC vacated the studios and the Riverside Trust was formed and took over in 1975, turning it into an arts centre and theatre/cinema venue. In 2002, Studio 1 was taken over by "Riverside TV Studios" and is once again making television programmes.

In 2011 it was announced by the Arts Council England that the studios would lose all of its current funding. In 2013 new plans were put forward for the old studios to be demolished and the site redeveloped into a modern complex with new studios, theatre, and residences; these were approved by the local council on the 19th December.
