St Lawrence's Church
The Moor, Hawkhurst, Kent

The church of St. Lawrence dates back to Norman times, and is first mentioned in the charter of 1285. Most of the present day church was built around 1450, when the nave, aisles, porches and the tower were built.

Road: A21 (south) - From the A21, turn onto the A229 towards The Moor/Hawkhurst (Merriments Lane). When you reach The Moor, the church is on the right. Parking: roadside. +

Lillesden School for Girls (The Curse of Fenric). Exit the church by the side gate (east), and then turn right, walking along Hastings Road until you reach the school on the right. (275 yards, 3m)
