Whitehall / Parliament Street
Westminster, London

Whitehall is essentially the heart of British Government, with many departments in the buildings along the road, not least the Cabinet and Foreign Offices, and access to Downing Street. It is so named from the original Palace of Whitehall on the site, which was lost to fire in 1698. The southern end leading to Parliament Square is really called Parliament Street, but as there is no real distinction between the two roads this is often overlooked!

How to get here:

»

Underground (District/Circle/Jubilee): Westminster - Exit the station to the north, leading to Parliament Street/Whitehall. +

»

Bus: Westminster Bus Map - Whitehall is in the central part of the map. +
