Completed in 1928, the City Hall has 32 floors and is the tallest base-isolated structure in the world. The Mayor has an office, and the Los Angeles City Council regularly meet there. There is also a free public observation deck on the 27th floor. It became a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument in 1976.

Metro: Civic Center Metro - Served by the Metro Rail Red and Purple lines, and the Metro Liner BRT Silver line. Head east on West 1st Street for a couple of blocks, and City Hall will be on the left-hand side. +
