Trafalgar Square
London
The present Trafalgar Square was completed by the architect Sir Charles Barry in 1845, and is dominated by Nelson's Column to its southern side. Originally encircled by traffic, in 2003 the northern side to the National Gallery was redeveloped and pedestrianised.
The square is often used as an art and entertainment venue.
