Cornwall Gardens
London, SW7 4AW

Cornwall Gardens were built between 1862 and 1879, named in honour of Prince of Wales's coming-of-age in 1862, and during the latter 19th Century saw many Indian administrators, lawyers and soldiers living in the mansion houses. Originally the western end was to be a church, but the building of the Metropolitan Railway ended that plan, and unltimately this end became mews and stables (now Cornwall Gardens Walk).

How to get here:

»

Underground (District/Circle/Piccadilly): Gloucester Road - Exit the station to Gloucester Road, turning left. Cross Cromwell Road and continue along Gloucester Road until you reach Cornwall Gardens on the left; carry on past this to the next road which is also Cornwall Gardens, and turn left into that. Number 24 is on the north side, after you cross Launceston Place. +

»

Bus: Gloucester Road Bus Map - Nearest stops are GW and GZ (route 49). Cornwall Gardens are to the north/west side of Gloucester Road from the stops. +
