Dover Castle (Fitzwilliam Gateway)
Dover, Kent, CT16 1HU
Fitzwilliam Gateway was built in the 1220s on the eastern side of the castle at around the same time as Constable's Gateway on the west. The gateway was always considered to be the 'back door', for discreet access to the castle. The present steps and gates date from army alterations during the 1930s.
