The stables were built in 1883, when the castle around Constable's Gateway had a number of buildings added to provide larger accommodation for a Victorian general.

How to get here:

Walk: Admissions Centre - Follow the path to the west around the church, passing through Colton's Gateway and toward the keep. Bear left around the keep, and the stables are along the left-hand side past Constable's Gateway. +

The best position to take a photo capturing the camera scene is from the bridge leading into the keep at King's Gate.

Dover Castle (Constable's Gateway) (The Mind of Evil). Head south from the stables until you reach the Constable's Gateway, and then pass through the gateway onto Constable's Road.

Dover Castle (Fitzwilliam Gateway) (The Mind of Evil). Head north from the stables and follow the road around the keep to the eastern side of the castle (passing by the entrance to the medieval tunnels). Fitzwilliam Gateway is on the left hand side.

Dover Castle (King's Gateway) (The Mind of Evil). Head north from the stables and follow the road around to the medieval tunnels entrance. Climb the stairs to the bridge and walk along it into the King's Gate barbican.
