Dover Castle (King's Gateway)
Dover, Kent, CT16 1HU
King's Gate was built in the 1180s as part of the Inner Bailey walls surrounding the keep. The gate has an outer barbican for additional defence, with it's gateway positioned away from the main gate to limit a rushing attack.

Walk: Admissions Centre - Follow the path to the west around the church, passing through Colton's Gateway and toward the keep. Follow the path up to the keep (Palace Gateway) and walk through the Keep Yard to the far side and through King's Gate. +

Dover Castle (Fitzwilliam Gateway) (The Mind of Evil). Head out of the barbican gate and along the bridge to the end; climb down the stairs and follow the road clockwise round the keep until you reach the Fitzwilliam Gateway.
