Formerly known as Folley Brothers Gravel Pit
The former pit in the area was originally opened in 1966 by Folley Brothers, and the the time of filming for 'Ambassadors' was a fully operational gravel extraction enterprise. However, towards the end of the 90s current owners Lafarge Aggregates agreed with Little Marlow Parish council to turn the area around Spade Oak Lake into a nature reserve.

Rail: Bourne End - From the station, walk west to the Thames path, and then follow this until you reach Spade Oak Farm; you can cross the railway here onto Coldmoorholme Lane, and then follow the road until you reach the the public footpath into Spade Oak Nature Reserve (opposite Enid Blyton's cottage Old Thatch). Walk anti-clockwise along the path around the lake until you reach Lafarge Aggregate's entrance. +

Road: A404 - Follow the A404 until you reach the turnoff for Marlow; take the roundabout exit east towards Little Marlow, and follow the A4155 (Marlow Road) until you reach Coldmoorholme Lane just past a mini-roundabout. Following the road down you will eventually reach a car park. Parking: free. From here walk back along Coldmoorholme Lane to the public footpath into Spade Oak Nature Reserve (opposite Enid Blyton's cottage Old Thatch). Walk anti-clockwise along the path around the lake until you reach Lafarge Aggregate's entrance. +

Little Marlow Sewage Treatment Works (The Ambassadors of Death). Follow the public footpath west towards Little Marlow; when you reach the end of the path onto The Moor, turn left and walk down to the crossroads - the sewage treatment works is at the end of the right-hand road.

Follow it into Wooburn, then bear right along The Parade and Station Road, and this will lead onto Hedsor Road. Continue along here as it bears left, then turn right onto Bourne End Road. At the end, turn left onto Heathfield Road. The entrance to the estate is on the right, and then follow this to the house. Access and parking: unknown.
