The St. Davids 2 building project is (currently) the largest private financial investment in Wales, and covering some 1.4m sq feet is also one of the largest shopping centre developments in the UK. As well as retail, the site also aims to create affordable appartments within the area. It is due to open on 22nd October 2009.
The development has meant that a number of Doctor Who related locations have been lost, most prominent being the former NCP Tredegar Street car park, which featured in the opening scenes of . Others include a parade of shops seen in , and potentially means the remaining part of could also be lost, too!

The use of the car park roof for doesn't seem to have been documented in the Series Two Companion; it is possible that the filming was undertaken at the same time as other rooftop scenes on 8th August 2005, or the background is actually green-screen work undertaken on 16th August.
