Kesteven Forest, near Colsterworth, Lincolnshire
The woods were planted on what used to be a WWII airfield, which still retains a derelict control tower and wide runways.
Filming took place around the small roads to the north-east of the main runways, within the forest not far from the car park.
How to get here:

Road: A1 - Take the A1 to Colsterworth, then at the roundabout head east onto the A151. The woods car park is signposted on the right. +

Continuing south from "1" above, turn left at the junction and follow the road round to the right. At the next junction take the right-hand road leading further south and this then arrives at the junction.

Taking the north road from "4", this leads to an open area and then the tree line at the road at this junction.

To get back to "1", continue north and then turn right at the next junction, and then left back onto the original road.
