Shire Lane Quarry
Shire Lane, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire
(whereabouts of filming unconfirmed)
Unfortunately, no documentation exists in the BBC archives indicating precisely which two locations were used during the production of The Savages. However, on examination of contemporary Ordnance Survey maps of the area, director Christopher Barry has been able to identify the Shire Lane quarry as the location in question with a reasonable degree of certainty.
