Springwell Lake
Springwell Lane, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

Springwell Lake is part of the Rickmansworth Lakes in the Colne Valley Park; the area is managed by Three Valleys Water authority, and the lake used to be known as Springwell Reservoir at the time of filming.

How to get here:

»

Road: M25 - Exit junction 17 (Maple Cross) and head east on the A412 to the next roundabout. Turn left towards Rickmansworth, and Springwell Lane will be on the right, just past the pumping station. You can then park in the car park by Springwell Lock. Follow the path along the canal south past a bridge, then cross onto that road through the gap in the hedge, and follow it left. The area of lake used in the story is on the right, near an angler's area. +

Additional Notes:

»

The first two shots show the same point where the bridge leads onto the lakeside road, one from the road itself and the other from the bank - the lifebuoy helps pinpoint the spot amidst overgrown paths. These are two separate scenes, the first before Tyler arrives at the Ollis cottage, and the second when he pulls up where Ollis is!
